I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have experience providing individual therapy to adults, adolescents, and children in different settings. I obtained a Master in Counseling Psychology at the University of West Florida; and my Bachelor Degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico. I am a bilingual counselor (English and Spanish) trained in a variation of approaches including Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Management, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Process Therapy. I usually use an eclectic approach to therapy, treating each person according to his/her’s needs and desires.

I specialize in family systems and work in areas of domestic violence, anxiety/depression, trauma, confident and self-esteem issues, stress/life balance, communication and relational issues, and parenting. I have experience working with teens in various setting including public schools, alternative school for at-risk students, and private practice. My specialty is working with youth ages 12 to 18 experiencing a wide range of challenges including self-confidence, depression, bipolar disorders, suicidal thoughts and/or self-harming behaviors, anxiety, bullying, behavioral problems, pregnancy and/or parenting issues, family conflicts, anger, intimate partner violence, and various types of trauma such as sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. i am an ally of the LGBTQ community; and whe working with members of the LGBTQ community, I take into consideration how people’s own experiences regarding the effect of their sexual orientation or gender identity affect them and how other people’s and society’s expectations affect them.

My training and years of experience qualified me to guide you in your search of balance, functionality, and personal growth. My therapeutic approach include helping you explore and identify patterns of thoughts and behaviors that are preventing you from achieving your goals and expectations. We will work collaborative in your process of healing and a path of forgiveness that could help you make peace with your past and embrace your future. The goal is to make important changes in your life that will allow you to have a life of fulfillment and balance, and to have a healthy relationship with yourself and others.
