Amberlyne Greco, Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern
I have always had a passion for working with children! I have worked in positions where I have advocated for children for more than 14 years, originally starting as a Family Service Counselor, and then working at a non-profit organization in a program designed to teach children necessary coping skills to be successful in life through individual and group counseling. My counseling approach depends on the person with which I am working. All children are special and unique, and I believe it’s important to build a positive rapport with the child and learn what interventions will work best for them. I often use different interventions including cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, art therapy, and mindfulness. I also believe that developing a person's self-esteem is one of the most important things to consider when working with children.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY Albany, and a Master of Science in ProfessionalSchool Counseling from Sage Graduate School in New York. What brought me to the south was thebeautiful beach and lovely weather.
